PC Fair KL Convention Center

Plans were made last weekend to go for PC Fair which was held in KL Convention Center. Since no one wanted to drive there we all decided to meetup in Taman Megah and take an LRT from there.

Initially we're suppose to meet at 10am for breakfast and head to PC fair before lunch but after a lengthy debate we somehow settled with meeting at 12pm and having lunch and then only head to KL.Ended up in a dim sum shop which I have forgetten what it's called. Imagine having dim sum at 12 in the afternoon and my friends were even more shocked when I told them I wasn't joking we could get good dimsum at that time either :D

Took the LRT there and from Kelana Jaya all the way to KLCC the train was packed. I didn't know so many people still depended on the public transport. When the train came to KL Sentral the amount of people waiting to get on gave me a shock. Some couldn't even get on the train cause it was too full and had to wait for the next one.

After what seemed like forever we finally arrived in KLCC and proceeded to make our way to the convention centre and what better way to welcome us other than a big poster and a whole lot of people all wandering around looking for the best deals in town.

We first went into hall 5 to find a friend who was working there and made our way up to the Level 3 entrance so we could see all the exibition halls and somehow we found ourself going against traffic and it wasn't a pretty experience at all. Imagine 5-6 people going against hundreds of others ... arrrghhhhhhh

Finally I arrived at the place I wanted to go, the Dell booth and after checking out the price I manage to poison myself to buy something that I've been holding back for oh so long. Consoled myself by saying it's my belated birthday present. Since I have to wait for it to arrive you also have to wait to know what I bought ... hahahaha :P and the line to do payment at the Dell counter was awesomely long as well. There were like at least 10 people in front of my waiting to do their payment. I wonder how much Dell would have made during PC Fair itself.

Also among all the people and chaos manage to get hold of Janice and we metup in front of the Samsung booth. I guess it was a shock for both her and myself as I didn't imagine she would recognise me and with the added advantage of my height I thought I would be the one to spot her first and for her because she didn't imagine I would be with so many people so she also shy shy say hi bye and faster faster ran away ... ahhahah JAN DON'T FORGET YOU OWE ME ICE CREAM !!! :D

After everyone getting what they wanted we head over to KLCC to get some dinner. We were there since like 1pm and my legs were hurting like hell plus I wasn't feeling really well to begin with.

So we ended up in Burger King and while the rest hungrily finished their meal I struggled to eat mine cause I started feeling feverish and immediately my appetite was gone just like that. After forcefully pushing the burger down my throat and painfully drinking warm sprite and much chit chat it was time to go back home and get some much needed rest.

Thanks to my day in Pc fair I really did get a fever and ended up taking two days MC to recover from my fever. Hoorayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :)

Is it even possible to miss blogging ? Somehow being sick and away from the internet the past few days with the sudden mountain load of work on my table I've missed posting on my blog. Not like I've got millions of readers to keep satisfied but somehow just having an outlet to release some steam after work or a happy fulfilling day makes it that much easier to fall asleep at night. When I first listened to him sing Please forgive me immediately I was reminded of James Blunt minus the high pitch voice. After listening to the whole album the first time I was immediately hooked to his laid back style of singing and meaningful lyrics.

Though most of his song has a little hint of love,heartbreak or dissapointment but it's part of life and David just potrays it beautifully in his songs. Some of the songs are really slow and hits you straight to the heart. Eventhough some of the songs are not that great or heartfelt compared to the others but overall I still listened to the whole album without having to skip any tracks.

Let go your heart, Let go your head

If you're feeling in the need of some loving or just in the mood to listen to something laid back and easy then give White Ladder a try who knows you might just love it.

Finally after changing meds yesterday and swallowing a handfull of pills, I woke up with a new wave of energy to take on the challenges of the world. Though the headache still remains but it definately has reduced tremendously and my head no longer weighs a tonne.

Thank god for pain killers and antibiotics !!! Will be in a training today so updates later :D

Dyinggggggggg

Back to work after resting for two day with a headache that makes my head weigh a tonne and couple with that fever that keeps going up and down like a god damn see saw. Imagine with the air cond full blast and yet I can sweat throughout the night. Totally sucks man.

The medication doesn't seem to be doing much help either, popping pills non stop for the past two days and yet still feeling shitty today. So how does your body know how much antibiotic is enough ? Why issit when antibiotic is prescribed we are asked to finish it. So if we take one pill shorter we take a longer time to heal ? If by tomorrow I'm still feeling the same I'm going to go and see another doctor. First time even after medication I'm still feeling so bad.

On top of that as soon as I stepped into the office was dragged into a meeting which went on forever and ever and ever and 4 hours later my headache just got so much more worst. I just feel like curling up in one corner and closing my eyes and falling a sleep .. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is so that with the amount of artists and song available out there we somehow can share some that we like so we can expand our music selection and even if it's a genre that you don't usually listen to it's always good to keep an open mind to new experiences :D

When I first saw this album and noticed that it has a parental guidance advice stating it has explicit content I thought Amy was some kind of new rap artist with profanity in every other sentence but the image potrayed on the cover suggested otherwise so I went ahead and got hold of the album.

As soon as I listened to the first song in the album I immediately felt myself being brought back into the 60's and 70's.

They tryyyyy to make me go to rehab .. No No No

Somehow in my mind I could picture her singing it in black and white and behind her her backup dancers all dressed in their flower power dresses with a big hair band across their hair and doing their 60's dance moves. The track has a very upbeat tempo which is very catchy and yet it's about how the lady in the song is forced to go to rehab for a drinking problem.

The tracks are just simply awesome as she switches the beat and tempo and also the way she sings the songs. It's somehow so laid back yet carries weight in each word that she sings.

What kind of fuckery is this ?

Each track has it's own style and the musicians accompanying her is just superb. They add on to the ambience and bring character to her already awesome sounding voice. The first time I listened to the album I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics and just listened to her sing but as I kept on playing I kept on listening more to the lyrics and despite the upbeat tempo on some of the tracks the message trying to be conveyed by her is real.

I think this is one of the rare albums that I absolute love each and every song. Addicted is damn funny as well hahahaha you need to pay attention to the lyrics. I truly recommend her to those who want to try something new and are a bit tired of your normal everyday music.

Thursday Morning

Came in early today and was sitting down in the pantry having my breakfast and sipping my Milo when one of the girls came and said she baked some cupcakes last night and wanted us to try some .So obviously yours truly had one cupcake to try and when I opened the box to get it I saw this.

Can you imagine a dozen of this in a box looking all preeety until it felt eating it was wrong but heck it was made to be eaten and eaten it shall be. It's basically a chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing and an awesome looking rose.

Burrpssss it was a lovely breakfast with an awesome looking cupcake for dessert. Yesterday another staff came back after lunch so excited.

She : OMG I found some dark chocolate at last.
Me : Most supermarket also got sell what.
She : Nooooooo .. not this kind. You want to try some ?
Me : Sure why not (wondering what so special about it)
She : This one is 85% cocoa the most I've seen is only 75%
Me : 75% - 85% what's the big difference (takes a piece and a big one at that too)
Arrggghhhhh (makes funny faces)
OMG it's so damn bitterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
She : Hahahahahah laughs hysterically

I thought I've eaten dark chocolate before but boy was I wrong. Apparently this is the real stuff with 85% cocoa. If all chocolates tasted like this the chocolate companies will go bust soon. I shall stick back to my nuts and raisin cadbury thank you very much

The Society of Others

Not knowing anything about Wiliam Nicholson or the work he has done before I picked up this book in a book sale and just finished reading it and now that I've done reading it and finally got down to finding out more details about the author and the work he has done before.

He was involved in movies like Shadownlands, Gladiators and others so obviously Society of Others should be an interesting read right ? Well even after finishing the book I'm still left in confusion as what actually happened because it ends in such an abrupt manner.

So much time was spent introducing the main character who recently just graduated college but find no thrill in life and finds it meaningless. After much nagging from his dad he decides to take the money given to him and head on a road trip with no known destination and plan.

Hitching a ride with a philosophical truck driver he finds himself somewhere in Eastern Europe and just as he was getting used to the land he finds himself fleeing for his live when a group of men stop the truck. Before dying the truck driver passes and envelope to him stating he should never let it get into the wrong hands.

Before long the narator finds himself being pursued by government officials who thinks he's part of a movement labelled as terrorists by the government. With all the chaos and being in a different land with different cultures he soon begins to ponder the meaning of his own existance.

He examines the relationships he had with his parents even while on the run from the police and soon get caught and cuts a deal with the government to save his own life. The dramatic ending left me with many unanswered questions but it was a good read nonetheless.

Mid week ramblings

There's so many things to do yet here I am sitting and wondering what to do. I probably need to get off my lazy fat ass and start thinking about what I need to do for the assignment and at the same time borrow some books from the library to read up before the exams.

I was suppose to go down to Bangladesh this week but somehow due to some unforeseen circumstances someone else went in my place and now I am going to Myanmar instead at the end of the month.

I've been spending so much time in front of the pc as well these past few days and just surfing aimlessly, checking out other people's blogs, last.fm,flickr and especially youtube. and before I knew it 2-3 hours has passed since I first sat down and this has been going on for the past week or so .. bad this is just bad ..hmmmmmmmm

I started to go through some of the pictures that I've taken over the week and there's a whole load of photos that I've not even gone through and totally forgetten about. Wanted to sort them out and upload them to Flickr but somehow the furthest I got was moving it all from multiple folders and putting them into a single one.

I rushed from work yesterday hoping I made it in time to catch the 7:15pm bus home but I obviously was a bit late and saw the bus leaving just as I reached the stop. So I had like 1 hour to waste before the next bus arrives. Managed to catch up on some reading and finished yet another book. As I sat there with nothing but time to kill I had so many thoughts running through my mind.

First of all I need a god damn break from work and get as far away as possible from anything remotely resembling work. Would be even better if the place I'm going to go to doesn't have internet access so I will not be tempted so check my mail ever so often.

Second of all I need to finish my damn studies as soon as possible because it's taxing me not only mentally but financially as well. Here I am suffering like a dog trying to pay off my school fees and not being able to fully enjoy the labors of my hard work. It's hard enough trying to make it through the day without the additional stress of figuring out what surprises the next day brings.

I also need to stop trying to interpret every song I hear.You know there comes a time in your life when you suddenly realise that every other song you listen to suddenly sounds like exactly what you're going through or as though the person who wrote and sang the song felt exactly the same way you did. It's just so freaky how so many songs that made no sense before now suddenly connects with you at a much deeper level giving it more meaning then you would like to admit.

The good thing so far was despite the work load from work and college I still managed to squeeze in some fun time to destress myself and spend some time with the people who mattered. In all the insanity and uncertainties that is currently happening thank god for the friends who are there when you need them.

Guess I just need to get my shit together and shoot down the doubts I have in my mind as to the reason of the sufferings I'm going through now hoping something better awaits for me in the future. I shall stop my ramblings for now until I get my thoughts more organised.

Feed me !!!

Have you ever gone to your favourite site or blog only to find that it hasn't been updated and you try again the next day and it's still the same and so on until one day you just stop trying. What if you have a lot of favourite sites ? You obviously can't be sitting in front of the pc and checking out each site to see if there's any new update though I know some people who actually enjoy doing that .. ahhahaah

Fret no more with the wonders of RSS and news feeds now you can know whenever a site is updated and you'll have even more time to visit even more sites while you're bored in the office with nothing better to do :D

So this post is for my technology challenged friend who doesn't know the different between RSS and her own ass :P hahahahaha

First of all you need to get an RSS reader. There's a few free ones and there are some that need to pay but I myself am using Google Reader. Reason I chose this over the rest is because it's easy and simple to setup plus I get to read my feeds wherever I am on the web so I don't have to keep track of which ones I have read and which one I haven't plus since I already had a Gmail account I could just use back the same login.

The other advantage of Google reader is that it can be viewed from the mobile phone as well which makes life less boring during those long commutes or while waiting for a meeting to start.

So you've logged into Google Reader now what ? Well the next thing you need to do is obviously add the page/site that you want to receive feeds from. To do this basically just go to the site you are interested in and look for this icon

What you can do is

1. click on it
2. or Copy the url and paste it in Google Reader

Once you have clicked on it you will come to this page and from there just choose and you'll be ask to choose to add between Google homepage or Google Reader and you'll be asked to login to your google reader account and voila you're done. Congrats on adding your first feed !!! :D


Sometimes you will not be asked or prompted with a pretty screen like above when you click on the RSS feed link but instead be shown a bunch of text that doesn't make any sense like the screen below.

Don't worry you haven't broken anything. This is basically an XML files that informs the reader on how to read the information. Go back to the page you came from and right click and choose copy shortcut or copy link location and then go back to your google reader and click on Add Subscription from the link on the left and paste the url you just copied and once again you should have sucessfully added yet another feed into your reader.

So what are you waiting for ? Faster login to Google Reader and start feeding !!!!! Here's the link to my feeds :D

Kanye West Afterparty

Rushed to Velvet after the concert so can make it in time before Kanye walks in but I think in the end he did't show up after all. Doesn't matter it was still a damn fun night. Reached there before 12 and the place was already fill with people which is suprisingly good for Sunday night.

Metup with some old and new faces though honest to god I can't remember some of their names even though meeting them more than once hahahahaha never was really good with names anyway. Anyway Tyler informed that Lewis Hamilton was around .. you know the F1 driver who had a stunning 2nd place finish in Sepang. Though I never got the chance to watch the actual race since I was in class but I reckon it must have been pretty awesome. So me and Cynthia went running to take pictures with him hahahh felt like some paparazzi reporter/photographer and you couldn't imagine the amount of people surrounding him and I got kinda nervous cause I don't know much about F1 .. hahahaha

Me : Eh is this going to be a hit and run thingy or we need to talk to him ?
Cyn : Just go and get a picture la
Me : Cause I have no idea if he won or lost the race also
Cyn : Don't care la just go only

So we somehow got to take a picture with him .. hahahaha and said hi and bye and ran for our lives cause people around him were actually having proper conversations with him and we just went there for the picture .. damn evil .. hahahaha

Met with a few other friends there as well and suprised to see a few familiar faces from the concert as well. Too Phat also made an apperance and apparently some dude who danced in Madonna's video was also there strutting his stuff. Tried to get some picture but he was damn fast and most of the pictures I took came out blur .. yes yes drinking had nothing to do with it okay !!!!

All good things must come to an end and in this case Cyn had to go back office to get some work done. Damn pity her also la kena dragged out by me and then had to go back to office to do work .. Sorry Cynthia hope you manage to finish your work and didn't get into too much trouble

Wake up Mr West !!!!

Wooohooooooooooooo manage to catch the Kanye West concert yesterday and it was with great anticipation. I've always enjoyed listening to his music and with the chance to catch him perform life it was an experience not to be missed.

Initially wanted to go but since I knew no one else going decided to give it a miss and head home to catch up on some much needed sleep. I was in class when I got an sms from Cynthia.

I got tickets for the concert. You wanna go ?

That's all I needed hear and plans were made to meet up around 6pm before heading for the concert. She managed to get a free pass for herself so I bought mine from the counter at the stadium itself. I thought the place will be like crowded with people and getting a parking would be a nightmare but luckily it turned out to be otherwise.

Reached there slightly after 6pm and I got my tickets and we had to wait for Cynthia's friend Belinda to arrive with the ticket. Walked around taking random pictures and we finally got to get in around 8pm and I was suprised with the amount of people around. I thought it will be like quite packed with everyone pushing and shoving to get in front of the stage.

After much waiting Too Phat came on stage to kick off the night. The did a number of songs and by 9ish they were done and we were left waiting while Kanye's guys get the sound system ready before he gets on.

The accompanying orchestra came out and everyone started screaming their lungs out, the girls especially. For a moment there I thought I almost lost my hearing.

Finally Kanye West appeared and I can't exactly remembered the song he opened it I think it's Diamond ? Arrrgghhh getting old .. hahahahah .. and then that's when the crowd starting pushing and shoving and they really were pushing like mad. Before long Cynthia gave up and left to head over to the media box. Leaving me and her friend Bel standing our ground. After a few songs I turned around to realise Bel also was missing hahahaha. He played quite a number of songs that I love like

• Gold digger
• Workout plan
• Through the wire
• Diamonds From Sierra Leone

and a few other that I can't really recall at the moment. It was one sweaty experience but being so close to Kanye definately made up for all the pushing and shoving ... hahahahah ... and after finally not being able to be surrounded by sweaty young females I decided to get some fresh air from the behind.

The one thing I didn't understand was how he was playing a song from his upcoming album Graduation and he suddenly said

No No No stop stop stop

I thought they played a wrong song or what but then he played the song again. I guess he wasn't happy with how it sounded the first time. Hahahhahaha overall I was expecting a whole lot more from him but then was quite happy with what he played as well but I think a bit not worth the effort and trouble to see him only sing for about an hour only.

In fact I was expecting him to come out stage and do an encore as most performances/concerts have but obviously I was wrong. Thank you Mr West for coming down to Kuala Lumpur and keeping it real !!!

Pit Lane Park

Went to check out the Pit Lane Park even organised by BMW and boy was I shocked by the size of the venue. Plus you actually get to see the F1 car plus there's a simulator as well. The most interesting thing for me was the pit stop challenge.

You actually get to change tyres on an F1 car and boy was it fun and not forgetting fast. You even get a cert if you manage to change the tyres within 10 seconds. Plus there's Chris Pfeiffer who currently is the indoor streetbike freestyle world champion doing his freestyle bike rides which definately adds to the fun factor. I heard there was an F1 car doing burnouts and donuts as well but I didn't get a chance to catch that.

The most important thing was if you manage to get your hand on some VIP invites there's a huge lounge for you to have a drink and rub shoulders with some of the BMW people. Who knows you might even get to say hi to Nick Heidfield.

Not forgetting the freebies given out. You even get to take a picture with the F1 car and they will print out the pic for free of charge.

One of those days

You know how when you had a bad day and you wish you never woke up from your lovely sleep and instead stayed in bed the whole day ? Today seems to be one of those days. Office internet had some intermittent issues since yesterday and client hasn't been able to access our website since then. To make things worst I was in a meeting since 10am and only got back in office at 3pm only to be bombarded left,right and center with comments and questions about the issue.

Lucky the day was saved with a free lunch buffet with some lovely honeydew sago for dessert. After that a visit to one of the site that has implemented a new system to do some research made it even sweeter but then again it was like a double edged sword. On one hand my eyes were having an awesome time but then again being in my office attire with a tie made me feel damn out of place lor .. hahahahaha


Well obviously since the networking guys are working on it and it's out of my control there' s only so little I can do unless I take a gun and start pointing at the technicians head which obviously I wouldn't cause I mean like where can I find a gun in the office right ?? hahahah anyways here's some technical info on what happened .. the internet was still having problem because the firewall went bonkers and after much tinkering they still couldn't fix it. We had some urgent data that needs to be migrated to a government agency for them to process so finally we decided to remove the server from the firewall and connect it directly to the router just to transfer the data so one problem solved but the main problem still exists .. that's a battle I will keep for tomorrow.

Yesterday I had classes and I was totally like damn the blur lor. It's as if parts of my memory no longer existed especially anything concerning last week. I sat there looking at my notes and handwriting and even though I can obviously recognise it as my own but I have no recollection whatsoever of actually solving the question and taking down the notes. I was like OMG WTF .. did I really do this .. shitssssssssss ... I've certainly lost some brain cells over last weekend .. time to hit the books ..

F1 fever begins

F1 fever is here with the race coming just around the corner and together with the F1 race madness the streets of KL are going to be jam packed with people heading to the various parties and hotspot in town.

BMW is holding an event from Apr 4-8 in Car Park Jalan Binjai KLCC which is starting today from 7pm onwards till about 11pm. Have no idea what is going on there but I might be going after class to just have a look see if I'm not too tired plus I heard there's some party going on for the next few days as well but strictly invite only hmmmm who do I have to go and bribe ahh ... hahahah

New template

Just upgraded the blog to the new template design blogger is providing. It definately makes it much easier to add and edit things especially if you're new to html. Which layout is better ah ? This one or the previous one ??

Let's all go scrobbling !!!

I first heard about Last.fm from here and I decided to sign up for it last year and fast forward to now and I finally got my lazy ass to post something about it. Also you would have noticed that I've included the recent music I'm listening to at this exact moment on the side though it's not like updated by the second but it's still good enough.

So in case you go bonkers wondering what the heck is Last.fm and what the heck is scrobbling let me shed some light hahahaha. Last.fm is a social music network similiar to friendster but in this case it keeps tracks of the music you listen to and adds it to your profile which in their term is scrobbling. So you scrobble the music you're listening to and you can share your music preference with the rest of the world.

You can even built charts, get recommended to music based on what you have listened so far. They even have a radio where you can stream music. Then you can also build your list of friends or listen to what your neighbours are listening to. It's basically an awesome way to get to know new music or artists.

Belated birthday dinner

Since it was raining yesterday my parents and I decided to postpone my birthday dinner for tonight. Burp damn the full lor .. now just feel like going and rolling around in bed and falling asleep fresh and ready for the challenges awaiting me tomorrow in the office. Had one hell of a birthday bash on Friday night all thanks to Tyler, Andre and Aran and not forgetting Joachim for making a last minute appearance. The plan was to go out drinking and partayyyyy the night away and I think I got more than I bargained for cause I am missing a few parts of the night from my memory as I slowly try to recall what happened. I guess I finally have met my match somewhere in the combo of good ole chivas, flaming and then washing it all down with some long island. Fuyohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... thanks guys you all rock !!!

Last night another group of friends dragged my ass out to celebrate my birthday and despite my throbbing headache I went over to Mid Valley to meet them. Thanks a lot Kelvin, Christina, Estee, Tingting, Joey, Ahwai, Mary, Cody, Sylvia, Lysa and whoever else I forgot to mention for organising my suprise birthday party though calling or more like forcing someone to come out for dinner on his birthday isn't much of a suprise anymore but the number of people there did shock me though.

Last but not least thanks to Cynthia for making a suprise visit to Mid Valley to join for supper. It's one of the best if not the best birthday I've had in a long time and many thanks to all you guys for making it so. Many hugs and kissesssss .. muaaaaksssss :D
