Knocked Up

Usually when I watch a movie I will update in my blog and I haven't been doing it for so long because firstly I haven't been watching movies for quite some time and secondly I've been rather busy with assignments and exams and thirdly because I was just freaking lazy hahahahah

So last week ended up watching Knocked Up starring Seth Rogen as Ben Stone and Katherine Heigl as Alison Scott. In a nutshell this show is about what happens after one night of drunken fun and 8 weeks later Alison Scott realises that she's pregnant and Ben Stone is the father.

This movie is very funny and those who have been in similar situations I think can really relate to this movie. The obvious decision that had to be made was obviously if the baby should be kept or if Alison should get an abortion and once that issue was sorted out it was time for Ben and Allison to figure out if they want to raise the baby together.

It's funny seeing how the mismatched couple get to know each other and realise that in the end the responsibility they have as a parent. I definitely enjoyed the show and had a ball laughing my head off. I feel it was as real as it can get though seeing how it was a movie a happy ending was portrayed instead of what actually happens in reality. Still a good watch though

What the fish

Is it better to be a big fish in a small pond or a big fish in a big pond ? Being in a smaller pond means that you are almost on top of the food chain compared to in a big pond where you have to fight for your survival and risk being eaten alive !??!!?

From my previous post here work has gotten even more confusing. The future direction of the company is still unclear and with my team being split up it leaves even more room for doubt and uncertainties. Even if I were to be transfered doesn't mean everything is hunky dory. Being in my current position in the current organisation means that I was a big fish in a small pond and my opinion and say mattered and I made a difference in my actions and was given the freedom to handle my work and task as seen fit and as long as deadlines were met my boss was cool with it.

Now by being transfered back to the "mothership" it has left me rather worried. First and foremost the team will be reduced in size by half and that does not only means more work but also means that it leaves little or no time for improvement or innovation. Also the amount of freedom will definitely be reduced significantly as the "eagles" and "hawks" will be watching and hovering above to catch even the slightest misconduct. Though it does mean a better job security but that also is a big question mark as the future of the project I'm working on at the moment is rather questionable. Seeing how the "new organisation" is a non profit one and every decision and purchase will be under scrutiny by the "big boys" and everything has to be justified. Heck even upgrading from the hard drive for the new pc which costs an extra few dollars for an extra 10-20GB was met with huge resistance.

On a brighter note the new office seems to have attracted a lot of attention especially from people in the mothership and some have even express desire to come and sit in our new office. How funny would that be working in a more "corporate" environment where backstabbing and lying and cheating are a common thing. Gone is the spirit of "togetherness" that made me stay in this current organisation for such a long time. 2008 indeed promises to be a very interesting year.

How I wish I could just stand up and walk away and never look back but due to circumstances it's something that I can not do at the moment nor do I see myself doing something so drastic anytime soon. It's sad what a slave I have become. Here's hoping I get my priorities right before I become a zombie to the corporation and before I have lost my spirit and will along with numerous other things that happens when you turn into a corporate slave.

Photohunt - Paper

This weeks photohunt theme is Paper. For once I think I'm on time or maybe even slightly early. There's so many pictures that came to mind but in the end I settled for the following

The bill

Different kind of bill

This is one paper that's definitely important to have and keep

It's been a while

I just realised that I haven't been blogging for some time. Well I have but not as often as I used to. By penning in this case typing out my frustrations and anger it somehow made things that much easier to go through but along the way with time being divided between work and studies and the much needed weekend breaks my blog has somewhat been neglected.

It's not that I have nothing to say but on the contrary I have loads of things going on my mind and issues that never seem to be ending but looking back at my previous entries is almost always about the same issues which is work being too much to handle or studies killing me slowly. It's always about me being upset or angry about something and recently things have somewhat changed though I'm still a little angry and upset but it's as though it didn't bother me as much as it did before. Maybe I have learn to be more calm and handle things in a more less hostile manner or I just couldn't be bothered about the same stuff anymore as it doesn't seem to be helping by keeping hovering and thinking about the same matter over and over again. Just aggravates and worsen the situations.

With the long break coming and with a lot of free time on my hand I think I need to relook at rethink the situations I'm in and get my priorities right. It's time to see what I've been doing and what I want to do after all the end of the year is almost near it's time to set things in motion for next year. One thing for sure I'm getting rather sick and tired of living a "stagnant" kind of lifestyle of just working and slaving and paying of debts. There's definitely more to life than being a modern day slave and I need to find my passion and drive once again if I'm to survive yet another year in this working place.

Some plastic models taken at a friends house.

The ultimate evil plastic !!!! If only I can destroy all of them !!!

FREEDOM !!!!

Finally after much struggling I'm free !!! Just finished handing in my assignment last week and what a relief. A huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders and now I have two months break until my classes start again.

That's two months of freedom to do whatever I want !!! muahahahahah I was thinking of taking up another class, yes yes call me insane but I'm so used to the hectic pace of life and the sleepless night that now I have so much time on my hand I have no idea what to do with it. I definitely spent the weekend catching up on some much needed sleep. Apart from that cleaned up my room a bit after so much procrastination. Was thinking maybe Korean or Japanese or even Mandarin ?? What about cooking or baking ?!?!?! hahahahahaha

Well we'll see how it goes for now I'm just enjoying my new found freedom :D

Photohunt - Music

This weeks photohunt theme is MUSIC. I'm a bit late on this one as I was busy studying for my exams on Saturday and finally now I have the time to go through my pictures for something suitable.

Recently I attended a headphiles gathering. As much as I like
my music this guys were very serious about it. Some even
spend up to USD 400-500 for a pair of headphones !!!

No doubt to some hearing the roar of the F1
engine is pure music

For me listening to the wind chimes
on a cool relaxing day while sipping a cup
of tea is my kind of music :)

STOP THE CONTEST !!!

Just saw this today and it made my blood boil. It's one thing to catch homeless dogs and putting them into a shelter where they might be lucky enough to find a home but to hold a contest to capture these poor unlucky animals is just ridiculous. I find it totally an inappropriate way to solve an issue. For sure a stray dog might be dangerous but to just go out on a witch hunt for them is inhuman.

It's as though we are magically teleported back in time. I can just imagine everyone dress in black carrying pitch forks and lanterns prowling the streets at night looking for this poor animals. Haven't they suffered enough ?!?!?!

To: Selayang Council

We, the undersigned, strongly protest the current dog hunting competition instigated by the Selayang Council(http://www.mps.gov.my/hanjing/dog.html)as reported in Sin Chew(4th Sept, 2007). We strongly disagree with such a campaign to catch stray dogs for prize money which can only lead to more animal abuse and animal deaths. Such a barbaric campaign is totally irresponsible and ineffective in curbing and resolving the issue of stray animals in the city. We demand that the campaign be stopped and an alternative campaign be put in place using the so called prize money. We would also like to appeal to the city councils across the country, animal lovers and all compassionate citizens of this good country to support our protest against such a disgusting show of inhumanity.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Traffic jams

In KL there's lotsa jam
Ee i ee i o
In in the jam there's lotsa cars
Ee i ee i o
With a car car here
And a car car there
Here car, there car
Everywhere car car
In KL there's lotsa jam
Ee i ee i o

Sometimes I sit and wonder what is the cause of all the jam in the first place. Is it because there is really a problem with our roads where it cannot cater for the amount of ever increasing cars ? I know for sure sometimes it's caused by inconsiderate drivers who tend to cut into the lane/queue at the very last minute.

At other times it's because of an accident. I don't know what's with drivers who like to slow down and have a look at the accident site. Are you part of the CSI team where with one glance you can figure out what actually happened ? More often than not the accident could be on the opposite side of the road and yet it's this side of the road that is jam. That really gets on my nerves.

Not forgetting the rain, OMG it's as though we suddenly forget how to drive when it rains and go crawling on the road at ridiculously slow speeds. Well if you're afraid of the rain or the fact that it might melt your car then don't bloody hell hog the fast lane. Keep the left where you belong god damn it !!! Also for your information the reason it's called an emergency light is because it's only used for emergencies when your car is broken down at the side of the road and not meant to be automatically switch on every time it rains !!!

The only reason I choose to work in this god forsaken place is because of the highways and non existent traffic jams and I get really moody and cranky when it actually starts crawling. I'm used to driving at speeds in excess of 80km/h on average except for the stop at the toll booths and yet today I find myself crawling at a paltry 10-20km/h !! arrghhhhhh early morning blood boiling already. I know traffic jam is part of driving in KL and I should get used to it but god damnit when a normal trip that takes 20-30mins ends up taking 60-90 mins I get freaking irritated.

8 questions you should never ask me

Got tagged by Trinity and since I have some free time this morning I decided to do the tag before I get swamped with work. This is a rather interesting tag that leaves a lot of room to think. So the main aim of the tag is 8 questions that you should not ask me

1. You still working in the same place ah ?
- What's wrong with working in the same place for so long ?

2. Wah you still not married ah ?
- @#$@#%@#$!@##!#!%&^*^

3. Eat already ah ?
- Just came back from lunch what you think ?

4. Eh you still awake at this hour ah ?
- No I'm actually sleeping this is an automated reply please leave a message after the beep

5. Eh you tired and sleepy ah ?
- No la I just yawning for fun

Unidentified number calling my handphone
6. Hello who this ?
- Who are you looking for ? You call me and ask me who I am ?!?!?

7. What do you think about this ?
- Answer honestly and then get ridiculed for thinking about it that way

8. Wahhhh you still driving this car ah ?
- !@#$@#%#$^%&

Malaysia International Fireworks Competition (Japan)

Here's some pictures from the Japan fireworks last week. Wanted to go for it but since our last experience during the Team Italy fireworks boo and myself decided to give it a miss and thank god we did that too because I heard people were stuck in the jam for 2-3 hours and some even more. That's just madness to watch a 20-30 mins fireworks show.

On the other hand everyone who went seem to enjoy the show except the the smoke which seems to be a lot for Team Japan's fireworks. Here's some pictures I got from my friend :)

Happy 50th Birthday Malaysia

A bit late on my posting as I was enjoying my break so here's to you Malaysia for being independent for 50 years now

Photohunt - Dirty

This weeks photohunt theme is DIRTY and so many thoughts came to my mind like a rubbish dump or a toilet or a wet market but after much thinking I'm finally settling on this pictures.

Boo caught this picture in a restaurant.
Is this Remy the famous little chef all the way from Paris ?

Is this dirty enough ? Reminds me of the scene from
Prison Break where an image was seen on the wall
from the water spot

Dirty does not need to be seen by the naked eye
